What people are saying about “Check Your Drawers” Reviews

I’ve been reading management books for more than forty years, and Check Your Drawers is one of the best – and most practical – I’ve ever read. I would recommend it to everyone from the entry-level employee on up to the CEO. Sharp, on point, insightful and enormously helpful – and penned  by a guy who knows because he’s been there – Check Your Drawers can take a stagnant business and turn it into a thriving one. Great job, Bob!

~Tom Flournoy/President, CEO Tom’s Tiny Kitchen

Bob, Yes, I received them yesterday.  Many thanks! Last night, I sat down and read your book all the way through. You did a wonderful job of combining your learning’s from several different jobs and leaders and compiling them into something that is actionable.  Anyone can pick up the book and turn to any page and put it to work that same day. Well done!

~Russ Umphenour

Hi Bob, What a pleasant surprise receiving your book ! I had to do a double take with the “silver hair”………. so distinguished ! read the book over the weekend and I am convinced that “story telling” is one of the most effective ways of learning  . . . . . . . . and obviously, the book does a great job in this area. Congratulations on a job “well done” !

~Rick Arquilla President/Chief Operating Officer Roto-Rooter Services Company

“Eaton’s work should be on the shelf for a quick – draw by any department manager/director at all management levels. The info is readily adaptable to everyday situations encountered by those entrusted with eliciting the best of human performance at all levels. It is a much needed “how to” primer that fills a void too long in the making.”

~Milton Shattuck, Former Director of Human Resources, U. S. Department of Defense

I have enjoyed reading “Check Your Drawers” and there are at least 76 reasons why any leader in business, at any level, must have this on their “must read” list. It is practical, it has truth woven throughout, and the feature I really liked were the “Important Concepts” at the end of each chapter. If there were a word or two to describe the reason to read cover to cover they are “situational awareness”, as while we may pass on our DNA to the next generation we do not pass on our experiences. “Check Your Drawers” does that, and the lessons learned in the book are invaluable. Once read, I can only say “pass it on”; there are many golden nuggets to share!

~C. D. “Hoop” Morgan, III Founder/Chairman The Forte Institute, LLC

“Where were you 30 years ago when I really needed you? Don’t even think about going into business until you read this book. If you are already in business then its still not too late. That’s why they created death. Had I read it, I would have saved millions of dollars and saved years of heartache. Bob’s funny short stories come straight from the heart that we all can relate too. Bob has translated his childhood experiences, growing up on the south side of Chicago, into a what will become a Business Classic. More importantly, they are life lessons that anyone can use as their benchmark. Finally, a book that one size does fit all.”

~Larry Kelly, CEO Byasny International

“I own a 50 plus million dollar business today due in large part to what my Uncle Bob (he’s not my real Uncle) taught me. I have not worked with Bob in more than 20 years and I still repeat his words almost on a daily basis.”

~Max Wagerman III, Maximum Resources

What peop Bob Eaton, you are amazing! This book should be required reading for every new manager of ANY type of business. More importantly, it should be required reading for ALL senior managers of any type of business. No one is beyond learning, right? Bob Eaton does a great job of breaking down principles of business to daily life. All of us need to step off the merry-go-round, unplug, and take a ‘check up from the neck up’ by reading this book. You will gain ground immediately on nearly every issue you face, no matter the size of your company. This book does a phenomenal job of relating its ‘Golden Nuggets’ to everyday issues we all face. Bob does a great job of injecting ethics, moral compass and character back into business, something that unfortunately has been lost in a great portion of today’s environment. Do yourself and more importantly your employees a favor, read this book! People are counting on you to be the best you can be, following this book will make you great! My sincere thanks for sharing your wisdom with all of us, Bob!

“I read through “Check Your Drawers” rough draft. I Love the title and the contents.I love how you wrote it with your experience as a manager. It all made sense. The titles of each chapter were also fun and kept me wanting to read more. I enjoyed it!

~Tara Deaton, Practice Administrator

“This book should be required reading for all med school graduates before graduation because they go out and borrow hundreds of thousands of dollars to go in practice without knowing anything about business.”

~Dr. Mark L. Smith, Founding Partner Logan Primary Care

What peo“Oh captain my captain! You get this book and turn it into management training and I will shout it from the rooftops to everyone I know how great it is, because I lived it! Keep attacking!”

~Judd Skelton, Owner One Call Plumbing

I love the book, I love the chapters below. Stars Versus Dents: I learned the hard way to manage with kindness to get what I need. Work to Live or Live to Work: Wow I am a A+++ personality so I was conflicted with this one. I am the job and I love the job. I do struggle from time to time prioritizing my agenda. In the end, my family, partner and dogs come first before anything. But I am okay being the job!!! We All Want to Belong to Something Bigger: I love this chapter! I am a firm believer that even for the most basic role in our industry has a purpose and the purpose is for the greater good. Also know you are part of something bigger!!! I love the tone too!

~Julian Ochoa, Executive Vice President of National Sales Corporate Resource Services
